Step by Step by Candace Calvert

What’s inside:

Three years after a tragic accident left her a widow, ER nurse Taylor Cabot is determined to move on, checking off one item after another on her survival list. Her relationship with a handsome plastic surgeon even gives her hope for the last point―“fall in love again.” At least until crisis chaplain Seth Donovan steps back into her life, reawakening unanswered questions about her husband’s death.

While in San Diego to train community volunteers, Seth hopes to learn why Taylor is backing away from the crisis team and from their friendship. But nothing prepares him for the feelings that arise when he sees Taylor again . . . and sees her moving on with another man.
When a community crisis hits home and puts lives at risk, emotions run high and buried truths are unearthed. Will hope make the survival list?

Often called the author of “medical hope opera,” Candace Calvert is an ER nurse who landed on the other side of the stethoscope after the equestrian accident that broke her neck and convinced her love, laughter–and faith–are the very best medicines of all. Her popular medical drama series (Mercy Hospital, Grace Medical and Crisis Team) offer readers a chance to “scrub in” on the exciting world of emergency medicine, along with charismatic characters, pulse-pounding action, tender romance, humor, suspense–and an encouraging prescription for hope. Think “Grey’s Anatomy finds its soul”!

A native northern Californian, mother of two and proud grandmother to eight, Candace is a passionate “foodie,” equally at home with a whisk in her hand as she is penning stories. My Thoughts:

First off can we just Swoon over this books cover please I’m in love with the cover. Okay I have to say this is my first book that I have read by Candace Calvert. Step by Step is book 2 in the Crisis Team Series but you can read each book as a stand alone. I love when I read a book and feel like I’m truly part of the book. I love Seth and Taylor together once they finally gave into each other. I do have to admit that this book did take me while to get through I felt like at time it did drag on I wanted them to pick up the pace. Overall I did enjoy this book very much I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the Crisis Team Series. I recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a good medical romance drama series.

Star Rating:

I give Step by Step 4 stars I really liked this book very much.

The Bossman by Renee Rose

What’s Inside:

The Don’s brother.

The girl who swore off all mafia ties.

Sophie steered clear of the mafia after her father’s involvement ended with his murder. Fifteen years later, Joey La Torre, the Don’s brother himself, shows up unannounced at her massage studio and wheedles his way into a date. She has no interest in aggressive, macho men like Joey, or so she tries to tell herself, but her body just doesn’t get the message. When Joey takes her in hand with a firm bare-bottomed spanking, she ought to be furious, instead, she’s aroused. As she explores her physical desires to be dominated, she tries to keep Joey at arm’s length emotionally.

Joey knows he wants Sophie for keeps from the moment he walks into her life. She is hot, classy and full of fire, even though submission turns her on. But his involvement in the mafia is a hard limit for her, bringing to conflict his own dedication to the Family, the code of silence and his relationship with his older brother. Can he reconcile his duty to the organization and his growing need for Sophie to remain in his life permanently?

My Thoughts:
This book had me so confused I think I might have whiplash just from reading this book. I’m not sure why this book was even called Bossman it should be The Bossman’s brother Joey is the brother of a mafia boss who had fell head over heels for Sophie. Sophie says she wants no part of the Family but yet she can’t stay away from him. I feel like there was so much going on from one page to the next at times I had to re-read several pages just to understand what was going on. I was so excited to read this book when I read the synapse but sadly this was not the case when I actually read this book. This book just felt so rushed in every aspect of it. I don’t think I will be looking out for the next book.

Star Rating:
Overall I give this book 2 stars

My Thoughts:

Holy cow where do I start this book was amazing so much suspense and mystery I love Kayden and Ella together they have so much build up sexual tension between them it’s crazy hot. I feel so bad for Ella trying to figure out who she is on top of trying to figure out who is try to kill her. Kayden is the bad boy you should be running from but there is the side of him that makes you want to run to him to keep you safe! I loved this book so much it had me all in my feelings the passion, fear as well as the sadness I’m rooting for the truth to come out. Ugh I wanted to scream and throw my iPad across the room when this book left me with that huge cliffhanger I need book 2 now! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good bad boy romance with a lot of suspense!

Star Rating:

I give Denial an overall rating of 5 stars there was never a dull moment plus I had No clue where the story was going!

I WAS BLIND (Dating) BUT NOW I SEE by Stephanie Rische

What the back cover says:

Eight setups. Eight awkward dates. Eight things God tried to teach her along the way. (Some of which she’s still trying to figure out.)

Stephanie Rische was starting to feel invisible. All around her, her friends were getting married, and she found herself decidedly alone. Stephanie couldn’t help but wonder if there was something broken in her―was she not pretty enough? Not fun enough? Not dateable enough (whatever that meant)? So she started praying in earnest for God to bring the right man into her life. And instead, He brought her matchmakers. Eight of them, to be precise.

Beloved blogger Stephanie Rische debuts with this charming, vulnerable, and (who are we kidding?) often mortifying true story of a girl who tried really hard to find someone to fall in love with―even when she mostly just ended up falling flat on her face. But amid the most cringeworthy setups and awkward encounters, Stephanie found God’s grace and love meeting her there in ways she never could have imagined―once she opened her eyes to see.

She has several little princesses in her life, including her much-loved nieces. She blogs at stephanierische.com.

My Thoughts:

Ok let me just say that this book was not what I thought it was going to be it was so much better this was a very beautifully written book. I do love how I was completely in my feelings with this book I felt like I was laugh out loud yet at the same time I wanted to shake her. I love how the lord was there every step of the way to guide her. The lessons learned in this book can be learned by a lot of people. I’m so happy she finally found love in Daniel. I highly recommend this book I really enjoyed every moment of it.

My Thoughts:

I have no clue where to start this book had me in my emotions from the first page, the very beginning of this was so great but then towards the middle it seem to just drag on there were many times when reading this book I felt like I was reading the of a Lifetime Movie. There was so much packed into this story which I felt like was not needed. I do have to admit that I had a hard time connecting with the storyline at times. Overall it was an okay read I did enjoy the ending very much. Plus I fell in love with Jade and Tanner.
